Envisioning a world made whole through participation in authentic dialogue
.

Richard Rorty,
American philosopher of social justice, said moral insight “is a matter of imagining a better future, and observing the results of attempts to bring that future into existence.”

Welcome to Transformation Dialogues, a global Agora. The agora is a public place for meeting, a commons for exchanging ideas and interaction. The Agora of Athens birthed Western democracy, creating opportunities for public discourse.

The challenge of authentic dialogue in cyberspace is confronted by many groups, cultures, and disciplinary communities across the globe. As the complexity of social and cultural situations increases, our ability to engage in dialogue is diminished.
In the virtual globalized world, we require new forums commensurate with the complexity of our problems.

We require new social technologies enabling the deep considerations of dialogue for planning, design, and democratic decisionmaking..

Join Us

You have found a venue where we embrace this challenge. First, join us in conversation on this collaborative wiki. Make comments now, or request access (via Wetpaint) as a Writer to create pages to express ideas for exchange.

Next, join us in dialogue.
We are a community of dialogue practitioners, advocates of Structured Dialogic Design (SDD), a software-facilitated process for managing dialogues for navigating complex problem systems. The purpose of this venue is to enable people worldwide to find us and participate in this technology of democracy that ensures all voices are considered.

Then, let us together take on the complex challenges of our time to which we are called. Among these are the challenge of peacemaking in our world and communities. For example, we host coverage of the ongoing dialogues for reunification of Cyprus.

Dialogue for Democratic Action

We promote these conversations to actively engage the practices of dialogue for democratic action and transformation. Should you browse this site, you will see some of us have strong ideas about effective process. We do not believe we have the only answers. And we invite you to share your ideas so we might learn together what works in the many stakeholder situations we work within.

Join us in conversation about the power of dialogue and the paths to social and organizational transformation. Some of you may believe that dialogue is an end in itself. Others have different ways of progressing to democratic action. If we share our methods with open minds, we may find powerful agreement toward proceeding together in wicked problems.
